CrossTab Tutorial

Step 3 - Format & Style Your CrossTab

CrossTabs can be extremely powerful, but they can also be a bit fussy. Formatting & styling your CrossTab can be tricky.

Key Concept: CrossTabs are like a completely separate report embedded into your main report. They have their very own Outline, their own variables, etc.

When you double-click on your CrossTab, you will be taken inside the CrossTab "sub-report." To get back to your Main Report, click the "Main Report" tab above the canvas.

Adjust the Size of Columns/Rows in Your CrossTab

  • Double-click on your CrossTab

  • Click on a cell in your CrossTab within the column/row you want to re-size.

  • In your Outline, select the line above the cell you selected with the blue icon next to it.

  • Blue/Purple lines will appear on the CrossTab. Drag the blue/purple lines to adjust the size of the row/column in your CrossTab.

Style the Text in Your CrossTab

The text inside the CrossTab's cells can be formatted just like any other text fields in JSS.

  • Click on the cell

  • Use the Toolbar to style/format your text

Double-click on any cell to bring up the Expression Editor and customize exactly what is displayed within the cell.
